So for some reason this weekend I spent alot of time thinking about the city I live in. Mind you most of this thinking was spent outdoors, seeing as it ws 80 degrees or so here in the beginning of January.

Miami is an interesting city, in the sense that it is a very decentralized city. More and more people are moving back to the center, and around certain hubs, but it takes time. So for now, the city seems to be spread out over an area larger than Rhode Island. This geography eliminates much of the community feel lots of smaller and even larger cities have. So basically the situation makes it hard for people to meet other people. Kind of counterintuitive to the party scene Miami is known for.

So its kind of strange, miami is essentially a sea of people, but without any real ways to keep people interconnected.

I AGREE!

I just moved here a few months ago, and so far I think Miami is lovely–so much going on, so many fun things to do, such beautiful weather all the time–but so strange and sprawling and isolated and difficult to meet people and make friends and be a part of a community!!

What gives!
