Many small businesses are getting their lines of credit cancelled by banks that are going into hyper drive re: risk mitigation. Business should be given the opportunity to fund new jobs (the loan/grant component) and then be rewarded AFTER they follow through (tax break). I wish the government would for once realize the importance of small businesses in this country. I had a somewhat eccentric idea for combating unemployment... Establish a 7-hour work day! The extra hours that need to be worked would create demand for more employees. I understand that it would affect profitability, but I feel that companies should focus more on people and their quality of life rather than the bottom line. Great ideas, Brian!
